Sales & Tabs
Run service efficiently. Open tabs, quick-sell items, and split payments.
Two Ways to Sell
BarBud supports two primary workflows: Quick Sell for high-volume speed, and Tabs for seated service.
1. Quick Sell
Ideal for busy nights or "cash and carry" bars.
- Go to the Quick Sell view.
- Tap items to add them to the "Current Order" (floating tally at bottom right).
- Tap the tally to review.
- Hit Charge (or a specific payment method like "Cash").
- The sale is recorded instantly, inventory is deducted, and the cart clears.
2. Managing Tabs
Ideal for customers keeping a card on file.
- Open a Tab: Click the "New Tab" button (clipboard icon) or use the "Add to Tab" option in the order tally.
- Name it: Enter the customer's name or a descriptor (e.g., "Guy in Red Hat").
- Add Items: Build an order as usual, then select "Add to Tab" → [Tab Name].
- Close it: Go to the Tabs view. Click "Pay". Select payment method.
Split Payments
You can split a tab's total across multiple payment methods (e.g., half cash, half card).
- When closing a tab, select "Split Payment".
- Enter the amount for the first method.
- The system calculates the remaining balance automatically.
- Complete the second payment.
Comps & Voids
Mistakes happen. Managers can fix them.
- Void: Removes the item from the bill as if it never happened. Inventory is returned (optional).
- Comp: Keeps the item on the bill but sets price to $0.00 (e.g., "Spilled", "VIP"). Inventory is still deducted.
